Alessandro Altobelli has commented on Mauro Icardi and his future that would appear to be far away from Inter going by reports.
“Giving up a player like Icardi, even after all that happened last season, is not easy. If we consider only what he did before mid-February, Mauro remains one of the top five strikers in the world,” the former Inter striker said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I believe that Inter can’t send him to the bench or keep him in the stands, as the fans would want him on the field at the first defeat. Let him go, even if it will be a very painful decision.
“If I were the club, I would be asking myself how can you give away a striker than up until January was worth €100-110 million and today has no interest in him.”
“A swap with Juventus for Dybala? Let’s ask ourselves why would Juventus give up Dybala in order to take Icardi.
“Lukaku? He doesn’t make me go crazy. I trust Lautaro more, we already know what he can do.”
He also commented on Inter being linked with a move for Roma’s Edin Dzeko.
“He has always scored where he has played and he is a good striker but he is also 33-years-old and there is talk of a three-year contract.
