Fabio Capello has urged Antonio Conte to ‘ignore’ anybody who criticises him for joining Inter despite his Juventus past.
Conte signed a three-year deal with the Nerazzurri on 31 May and has offended various Bianconeri supporters, who have accused him of betraying his former club.
Capello today told Gazzetta dello Sport the former Chelsea boss should not waste his time listening to naysayers.
“I know he’s been criticised for moving to Inter but whoever says things like that should be ignored,” Capello said.
“Managers are professionals, although if football becomes a business instead of being about passion then that’s a problem.”
The former Milan and Juventus coach also appeared to question the Old Lady’s decision to pursue Inter striker Mauro Icardi in the transfer market.
“All I’ll say on transfers is that Juventus have Higuain in their squad,” Capello added.
“Do you remember when Sarri said he needed a player who finished off his attacks while he was at Chelsea? I won’t say anything more.”
