Inter could be set for a bidding war over defender Zinho Vanheusden as Royal Antwerp joined Standard Liege in the race to sign him.

GianlucaDiMarzio.com today reported Antwerp had registered an interest for the 19-year-old, with Standard still yet to close a deal.

Vanheusden is expected to complete a €20 million move in the coming days, with Xian Emmers also due to sign on loan.

Standard will have to accelerate negotiations in order to avoid last-minute surprises, though.

Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez recently told reporters the player would soon be ready to play for the senior team, capping off a fine season in the Jupiler League.

Vanheusden was a fixed starter for Standard Liege before a serious knee injury ruled him out of the end-of-season playoffs.

Emmers made 20 appearances for Cremonese in Serie B, scoring once and creating one assist.

Inter are hoping to sell Vanheusden before 30 June so they can record a capital gain in their bid to avoid risks relating to Financial Fair Play.
