Zinho Vanheusden’s father Johan Vanheusden has shared his hopes that his son will complete a transfer to Standard Liege from Inter.
The young defender has spent the past 18 months on loan with the Belgian giants and it is being reported that he could be set to complete a permanent transfer this Summer.
“Why did he leave Standard for Inter at 15? He needed to improve. He would not have been the same player if he had remained with Standard because in Italy training is different,” he began an interview with Voetbal Nieuws.
“He needed two or three years to learn the tricks of the defensive trade. He has improved a lot especially in terms of his positioning and when it comes to facing big opponents.
“I am very satisfied how the past season went because playing for a top club at a young age is not easy. The fans made a great contribution and his love for the club is only destined to become bigger and bigger.
He concluded the interview: “I do not know if Inter and Standard are looking for a new agreement. I have no idea but I certainly hope that this can happen.”
