Erick Thohir today voiced concerns Antonio Conte will not be warmly received by Inter supporters at San Siro next season.
Conte will begin preseason training on 7 July and said when being presented he did not think his Juventus past would be a concern.
However, Inter’s former president is not convinced Interisti will forget what he used to stand for too quickly.
“I like Conte because I think he’s a good coach,” Thohir said from the International Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Lausanne.
“My only doubt is how Inter fans might take the arrival of Conte and Beppe Marotta at the same time.”
Thohir completed a takeover from Massimo Moratti in 2013 and prepared the groundwork for Suning’s arrival three years later.
The Indonesian businessman now works for the IOC and was in Switzerland today to help decide which nation will host the 2026 Winter Olympics, which was won by Milan and Cortino d’Ampezzo.
