Inter have almost no chance of signing Romelu Lukaku before they begin preseason training on 7 July, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri will meet Manchester United soon in the hope of reaching a deal for the 26-year-old, whom Antonio Conte wants to sign at all costs.
Lukaku wants to join up with the former Juventus and Chelsea boss but United’s lofty asking price is making negotiations very difficult.
“Inter know Lukaku is worth €55 million in United’s books at the moment after signing him for €85 million,” the paper explained this morning.
“They therefore hoped they could sign him for a fee in the region of €60-65 million, but that’s not enough for United.
“The Red Devils are only willing to negotiate if they have an offer on the table which is similar to what they paid Everton in 2017, and with these conditions a deal is utopia.”
Lukaku is expected to turn up for preseason training at United next week and will again reiterate his desire to leave the club.
