Inter are unlikely to sign Alessandro Florenzi this summer as the midfielder is keen to stay at Roma, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The 28-year-old considered a move away from the capital last year but the club eventually persuaded him to sign a new deal.

Roles have been reversed in 2019, however, with Florenzi looking to remain while the Giallorossi reflect on his future.

“Roma’s management are looking into the relationship between Florenzi and his teammates, which hasn’t always been perfect,” the paper reported this morning.

“It’s not a coincidence Francesco Totti only spent two words on him in his press conference the other week before electing Lorenzo Pellegrini as a future captain.

“Unless an incredible offer arrives he should continue his career with Roma, though, despite acknowledging the risks that entails.”

Roma’s new head coach Paulo Fonseca wants Florenzi to be his starting right-back and will speak to the Italy international when preseason begins.

Antonio Conte coached him while he was in charge of the Azzurri and had indicated him as a potential alternative to Valentino Lazaro.
