Inter could sell Mauro Icardi to Juventus for as little as €40 million so they can get rid of him before preseason starts, La Repubblica reported today.

Icardi has been called up for the training camp in Lugano but Antonio Conte wants to replace him with Romelu Lukaku as soon as possible.

Inter are willing to meet Manchester United’s €70 million asking price for the Belgian but only if they can sign Lukaku on a two-year loan.

Everything would become easier for the Nerazzurri if they could sell Icardi this week, but Juventus need to sell players first before they step up their pursuit.

Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello again met Inter at their offices in Milan yesterday, telling reporters upon his exit that a deal for his client would be ‘difficult’.

The parties are negotiating nonetheless and Conte hopes Lukaku can take Icardi’s place in the squad imminently.

The paper also claimed Suning were considering transferring Radja Nainggolan to their sister club Jiangsu Suning, offering the midfielder €4.5 million per season.

Nainggolan is not part of Conte’s plans for this season, just like Icardi, and could be tempted unless he wants to remain in Italy for family reasons.
