Milan Skriniar today admitted he found it hard to imagine his Inter teammate Mauro Icardi playing for another team.

Icardi has no future with the Nerazzurri after Antonio Conte and Beppe Marotta collectively ruled him out of their plans for this season.

Juventus remain the club most heavily linked with the 26-year-old but Skriniar was in no mood to entertain the thought he could leave.

“Mauro is my teammate and at the moment I’m not thinking about him playing for other clubs,” Skriniar told Corriere dello Sport.

The defender was more open when discussing Edin Dzeko, who is widely expected to replace Icardi at Inter before the end of the summer.

“I’d like him to sign for Inter, not least because he speaks Czech and could understand me,” Skriniar joked.

“Dzeko is a very difficult striker to play against because he’s physically strong, experienced and good at holding the ball up. It’s never easy coming up against him.”

Inter’s first preseason friendly will take place against Lugano on Sunday but it is Icardi and not Dzeko who will be in attendance for that.
