The events of the next 10 days will go a long way in determining the outcome of Inter’s pursuit of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku according to a report from Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
With the English transfer window closing on August 8, the Red Devils wish to give themselves enough time to sort out a replacement in the event that they find an agreement with Inter over the Belgian striker.
They have zero intention of reducing their €83 million demands for the 26-year-old, who according to many reports is Inter’s number one transfer target for the Summer transfer window.
They made this abundantly clear to Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio when they last meet for negotiations in London in the past few days.
Inter are now readying a new offer that will meet their demands between the upfront fee plus bonuses. It remains to be seen if this will be enough to satisfy Red Devils officials.
