Inter’s owners Suning are considering taking a decision that would revolutionise the Nerazzurri’s transfer strategies, according to Corriere dello Sport.

So far this summer, it has been assumed Inter would have to sell Mauro Icardi before they could spend big to sign Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United.

However, the club are now contemplating whether it would be a good idea to change tack and bring in the Belgian without waiting for their former captain’s departure.

“At the moment it’s a difficult scenario to imagine, but if Inter decided they wanted to satisfy Conte’s request then it cannot be excluded,” the paper reported this morning.

Suning would naturally have to approve the move directly, given it would be ‘an investment without any collateral’.

Juventus last summer proved it can be a successful strategy, though, when the Bianconeri signed Cristiano Ronaldo and then sold various players in the months that followed.

Duvan Zapata is the only realistic alternative to Lukaku on the market at present, given the Colombian boasts similar characteristics.

Antonio Conte is desperate to bring Lukaku to San Siro, though, so it is unlikely Inter will make a move for the Atalanta forward yet.
