Mauro Icardi still prefers a move to Juventus over Napoli as Inter seek to sell their former captain, according to Corriere della Sera.
Reports elsewhere this week have suggested Icardi is beginning to entertain the idea of signing for the Partneopei, who already chased him in the summer of 2016.
Corriere assured the forward’s priorities had not changed, however, meaning the Bianconeri are still favourites to acquire his services.
Antonio Conte confirmed Icardi was not part of his plans before Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, leaving Maurito with little option but to leave.
Napoli have not given up on changing Icardi’s mind but in the meantime they are starting work on Lille’s Nicolas Pepe.
The Senegalese international was also linked with Inter at the beginning of the summer but the interest appears to have dried up since.
Cagliari are close to signing a replacement for Nicolo Barella, meanwhile, as they prepare to sign Marko Rog for a total fee of €15 million.
