Inter could resurrect their interest for Federico Chiesa next summer if the Fiorentina forward doesn’t move to Juventus now, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Chiesa met the Viola’s new owner Rocco Commisso yesterday and told reporters that all decisions regarding his future were ‘postponed until a later date’.
The Italian would certainly join the Bianconeri over Inter if he were to move this summer, but his family have not made an official commitment to any club.
Beppe Marotta reached a verbal agreement with Chiesa on personal terms several weeks ago, before Inter withdrew their interest.
Chiesa reportedly agreed a pact with Fiorentina’s former owners that they would allow him to choose his next destination this year, having remained for the 2018-19 season.
Commisso has since bought the club from the Della Valle family, however, and wasted no time in announcing his intention to keep the 21-year-old.
Chiesa scored six goals and provided seven assists for Fiorentina last season, as they narrowly avoided a shock relegation to Serie B on the final day of the campaign.
