Antonio Conte received further reassurance from Inter recently about the club’s struggles to sign him new strikers, according to Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri’s new boss seemed much calmer than in recent weeks after Sunday’s preseason win against Tottenham, as Inter produced another impressive performance with limited resources.

Conte is still not happy about the lack of transfer activity up front, however, with Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko looking increasingly unlikely to join.

The paper explained this morning: “There’s an extremely delicate puzzle to piece together with regard to strikers at the moment, and Inter are right in the middle of it.

“Lukaku, Dzeko, Dybala, but also Icardi and Higuain: all of them are in the same mix together.”

Inter did not seem to move any closer to bringing in another forward on Monday, as the clock ticks down to their first Serie A fixture with Lecce.

Conte could only have Lautaro Martinez, Matteo Politano and Sebastiano Esposito available for that match if no one arrives beforehand, with Ivan Perisic ruled out through suspension.
