Mauro Icardi could ask Inter to send him on loan to Juventus at the end of the transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Napoli and Roma are both stepping up their interest in the Nerazzurri’s former captain, with the former thought to have made most progress regarding personal terms.

However, Icardi would still rather wait for the Bianconeri as they look to raise funds for a last-minute move on the cheap.

“If Juventus want to regain ground in the race for Icardi then Fabio Paratici will have to take some money from selling Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala,” the paper reported this morning.

“But considering that Paris Saint-Germain will need to sell Neymar before paying up for Dybala, those at the Continassa get the impression this will take some time.”

Inter have no intention of letting Icardi leave on loan at the end of the summer, despite having done so with both Radja Nainggolan and Ivan Perisic.

Should the striker make such a request he will be told that he must stay at the club until January, at which point fresh negotiations could begin.

Juventus cannot be considered out of the running for Icardi but they will struggle to agree a deal with Beppe Marotta, who has fixed a higher asking price for his former club than he has for Napoli and Roma.
