Antonio Conte’s first-choice Inter XI this season could include as many as seven new faces, as Corriere dello Sport explained this morning.

The Nerazzurri have made five first-team signings this summer but are hoping to bring in three or four more before the transfer window shuts.

Alexis Sanchez is due to arrive in Milan this week and he could be followed by Cristiano Biraghi, whom Inter have selected to replace Dalbert on the left wing.

Conte also wants Arturo Vidal from Barcelona and if possible another centre-forward, capable of filling for Romelu Lukaku whenever he is unavailable.

Inter will change their formation from 4-2-3-1 to 3-5-2 this year, removing the slots for conventional wingers and reinforcing central areas.

Diego Godin may start in a three-man defence while Valentino Lazaro, Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi are all in contention to play in midfield.

Samir Handanovic, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Marcelo Brozovic are the only four players who can be confident of retaining their place in the XI following Luciano Spalletti’s departure.

Inter’s possible starting XI under Conte (3-5-2): Handanovic; Godin, De Vrij, Skriniar; Lazaro, Barella, Brozovic, Sensi (or Vidal), Biraghi; Sanchez, Lukaku.
