Although Mauro Icardi’s legal pursuit against Inter has lapsed, Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed what Inter’s plans were to defend themselves.
Icardi had launched legal action against the club seeking €1.5 million in damages but having left the club to join Paris Saint Germain, the legal pursuit is over.
Inter were going to stress that it was Icardi’s decision not to travel on the pre-season tour of Asia, not theirs and they have written confirmation of their intentions to allow Icardi to train at Inter’s Angelo Moratti Sports Centre training ground.
The club were also going to bring up the fact that Icardi flat-out refused to take to the training pitches on several occasions alongside his teammates between August 1 and August 11 and instead demanded to be allowed to train alone.
The report from the Milan based news paper also details that the club fined Icardi an undisclosed amount for his refusal to participate in training.
In short, it would have been a real battle had the legal pursuit progressed.
