Stefan de Vrij will not report for Dutch national team duty and will instead stay in Milan in order to continue the recovery process for the injury that he sustained a few weeks back.
The central defender picked up a muscle injury in the warm-up prior to Inter’s league opener against Lecce at San Siro, which they won 4-0.
As a result of the injury, de Vrij was also kept out of Sunday’s 2-1 win away to Cagliari and Inter manager Antonio Conte is hopeful that he will be able to call upon de Vrij for the first game back after the international break against Udinese.
The 27-year-old is now in his second season with Inter having arrived on a free transfer from fellow Serie A outfit Lazio in the Summer of 2018.
In his debut campaign, de Vrij made 36 appearances across all competitions in Nerazzurri in which he managed to score two goals and tally one assist.
