Slavia Prague’s Nicolae Stanciu has shared his pride at his team’s performance following their 1-1 draw against Inter last night.

The Czech side were just minutes away from recording a historic victory before Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella scored, which ensured that the points were shared.

“I think we deserved the victory. I am happy because we came to San Siro and played our game. We did not mind that we had a team like Inter in front of us. We want to face our opponents in this way, we do not care how big they are. Our game does not change. We have shown that no one should underestimate us,” he remarked in an interview with FCInterNews.it.

“We are all playing for the first time in the Champions League. It’s beautiful and stimulating, we are thinking game by game. We need to focus on each match then we will see what will be, we hope to progress in the Champions League or to qualify for the Europa League.”

Prior to his move to Slavia Prague, Stanciu drew links to both Inter and AC Milan.

“I don’t know anything about the interest of the Milanese clubs, I hope to be able to play other great games here in the future. Italy has one of the best leagues in the world and anyone would be happy to play in Italy.”
