Former Inter & AC Milan striker Christian Vieri has shared his views on Saturday’s first Derby della Madonnina of the season.

“There was no contest. Inter were great after their bad performance in the Champions League. It was known that they would come out and play with great intensity, aggression and desire. Milan did almost nothing. If it had not been for Gianluigi Donnarumma, Inter would have won 5 or 6-0,” he remarked in an interview with Sport Mediaset show Tiki Taka.

He also praised Romelu Lukaku who scored on his Milan derby debut.

“It was a great goal, it was beautiful. Antonio Conte wanted him signed at all costs and was right to do so.”

He concluded by speaking on just how quickly things changed for the Nerazzurri in the space of a few days: “Inter are crazy, after the Champions League, they were all to be sent away but after a few more days they are the strongest again.”
