Journalist Paolo Condo has praised Inter for the performance that they put in against Barcelona and several of the Nerazzurri’s players.

“Inter played excellent for an hour and a draw would have been a fairer result. Inter wasted many chances in the first half but this has been seen across the board for Italian teams in the second round of the group stage with Napoli and Atalanta also wasting chances,” he stated in his analysis of the match for Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

He also spoke on the impact made by Lionel Messi for Barcelona.

“Messi was not at his best but his presence alone causes his opponents to have maximum concentration and makes them live in fear.”

He went on to praise Inter trio Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez for their performances at the Camp Nou.

“Sensi, Barella and Lautaro Martinez have proven to be players of international class; this, in perspective, can only be a good sign. After this defeat Inter has the right to be sad.”
