Inter will focus their attention on signing Ajax starlet Donny van de Beek in the Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s paper edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter had previously struck an agreement with the Dutch giants during last season to talk about a potential transfer this past Summer but his continued good performances saw Ajax pull the plug on any potential deal as van de Beek’s transfer value soared to around €50-60 million.

The Nerazzurri will have such funds available this Summer to sign the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who has three goals and six assists in 12 appearances across all competitions this season.

In the meantime the report goes on, Inter are targeting a low-cost option for the January transfer window to shore up their midfield department.

That low-cost option is Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic. The Serbian has struggled for playing time this season and with his contract set to expire at the end of this campaign, Inter could well acquire him on the cheap.
