Inter and the representatives of Kwadwo Asamoah have started discussions over a contract extension according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The 30-year-old defender joined Inter on a free transfer back in the Summer of 2018 and his contract with the club is due to expire at the end of next season.

Inter wish to extend the Ghanaian’s deal by a further season and there is optimism from all parties involved that an agreement can be struck shortly. The report goes on to explain that Asamoah’s salary of €2.7 million will remain the same.

Since his arrival at the club, Asamoah has made half a century of appearances in the Nerazzurri shirt, eight of which have come this season.

Asamoah is the latest in line for a contract renewal at the Nerazzurri. As per reports in the media, the club are also close to tying down goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and also looking to agree terms with Lautaro Martinez.
