According to a report in today’s paper edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, it is more than likely that Mauro Icardi will join Paris Saint Germain on a permanent basis.

The 26-year-old striker joined the Ligue 1 outfit on a season long loan on transfer deadline day from Inter with the French powerhouses also having an option to sign him for €70 million at the end of the season.

PSG would certainly have no problems in coughing this sum up due to their extremely rich ownership, nor would they struggle to pay Icardi a big salary.

Inter invested significantly over the Summer to bring themselves closer to arch-rivals Juventus, who have reigned supreme in Italy for almost the past decade, and if PSG were to sign Icardi, Inter would have even more funds that they could use to further bridge that gap as they could target even higher quality players.
