In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, Cristiano Biraghi has shared his views on Inter boss Antonio Conte and how it feels to have returned to the club but firstly shared his delight at Italy’s recent success.
“We are happy, beyond the record of victories, to have qualified and we want to win the other matches that remain to be seeded at the European Championships. Mancini has created a nice group,” he said.
He then began to discuss Inter manager Antonio Conte.
“Conte has brought his winning mentality to Inter and we follow him because we want to win something. We are happy. We must always be focused and do our utmost to show the coach that we can be starters. I think that this is also part of the winning mentality, to do it, we need everyone.”
Next he discussed his return to Inter.
“I was hoping for it to happen, ever since I left. The opportunity has now arrived and I am happy. It is my goal to play in as many matches as possible and make a contribution.”
He then spoke on Inter’s upcoming matches with Sassuolo and Borussia Dortmund.
“We are thinking about Sassuolo, it will not be easy but we want to win. Then we will think about Dortmund. I think we know what the potential difficulties are, we will try not to make mistakes. We know their qualities, we will try to limit them the best we can.”
He also touched upon the injuries that Inter players have suffered during the international break.
“Injuries are part of the game, the important thing is that whoever replaces them gives their best and is up to the task. I am sure they will be because we are all important players.”
In conclusion he was asked what the team have learnt from the recent loss to arch-rivals Juventus.
“We have not yet analysed that game because we left for national team duty right after it but we will look at it with the managers and see the things that we did not do so well.”
