Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta needs to make a decision on the respective futures of three players ahead of the January transfer window opening according to a report in today’s paper edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The first player is Valentino Lazaro. The Austrian international joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin this past Summer.
He got injured soon after his arrival which has undoubtedly set him back. He has been limited to just 58 minutes across all competitions. If he does not show signs of improvement, he could be loaned out for the remainder of the season. If this is the case, Inter could move for Parma’s Matteo Darmian.
Then there is Borja Valero. The veteran Spanish midfielder has made just one appearance for a total of one minute on the park and appears to be completely out of favour under Antonio Conte.
Finally, there is Matteo Politano. The Italian has dropped down the pecking order in recent weeks and is no longer the guaranteed first man off the bench. He has appeared for just 24 minutes across Inter’s past four games.
