Karl-Heinz Riedle believes that his former club Borussia Dortmund are heading into tonight’s Champions League group stage match at home to Inter as favourites.

“If it will be as I expect inside the stadium, it will be a complicated evening for Inter. It will be a different match from the one played at San Siro and I would say Borussia Dortmund are favoured for this match, but they are not ahead of Inter in terms of qualification. Favre’s side must win at least 2-0 which will not be easy,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview which appeared in today’s print edition.

“Dortmund had no strikers in the other match. Inter didn’t need to do much to win. In fact, to be honest I got a little scared to see such a defensive team at home. Now Dortmund have got themselves out of trouble and have confidence. I expect a very open match.”

He then spoke on Inter manager Antonio Conte.

“Conte always set his formations in the same way, he did it also with Chelsea and with Italy. He is the same on the bench as he was as a player. He is a fighter that has personality.”

He concluded by discussing Inter’s strike force of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

“Lukaku can do even better. Lautaro is someone who has impressed me though. He showed he could decide a game on his own. Barcelona? I don’t find it hard to believe that they thought of him. You can tell by his movements, how he feels and sees the game.”
