Ahead of his likely sale to Flamengo in the January transfer window, Calcio e Finanza have examined the financial impact Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s sale will have on Inter.
Inter will have to sell the Brazilian striker for more than €12.8 million in order to make a capital gain on his sale. Inter forked out €30 million to sign him back in 2016 from Santos and due to contract amortisation, his value on the clubs books will be the above €12.8 million as of December 31 – the same day his loan with Flamengo is due to expire.
As per the report, Inter have a deal in place with Flamengo to sell him for €20 million plus bonuses meaning they will make a €7.2 million capital gain.
Due to the six months amortisation they would also save, Gabigol’s sale will result in a positive impact of €9.7 million against Inter’s books.
Gabigol has been in phenomenal form in his 11 months with Flamengo having scored no less than 39 goals in 47 appearances for the club.
