Inter midfielder Valentino Lazaro will remain with the Nerazzurri despite interest from Premier League side West Ham, considering the confidence placed in him by coach Antonio Conte, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews.
The report details how the 50-year-old Italian coach was keen to sign the player in the summer and his two starts against Bologna and Hellas Verona have sent Conte impressive signs. Conte reassured the player and his agent, Max Hagmayr, before Inter’s Derby d’Italia against Juventus in October, that he would receive more playing time and would fit into his tactical project at the club.
Furthermore, the report highlights how West Ham told the Nerazzurri of their interest in the 23-year-old Austrian, but the East London club were told that he was not for sale. The Nerazzurri invested €24 million into the player and believe he will be an important player for Conte as he continues his adaption to the Italian’s system.
