Radja Nainggolan’s salary will make a permanent transfer to Cagliari at the end of the season difficult to achieve according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Belgian midfielder returned to the Sardinian outfit on a season long loan basis having been told he was no longer seen as part of the Inter project and has used his return to the Rossoblu to great effect with him putting in several vintage Nainggolan performances.

He currently earns €4.5 million a season and would need to take a big pay cut in order for a permanent move to happen.

The report from the Turin newspaper states that the 31-year-old’s salary poses a bigger problem than the transfer fee does for Cagliari, who have been one of the surprise stories of the season with them currently in the European football spots.

This season Nainggolan has made 16 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored four goals and provided five assists.
