Inter are ready to make a £25 million (approximately €29.5 million) bid for Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri according to a report from British news outlet The Independent.

The Nerazzurri club are on the look out for a new left back and had identified the Italo-Brazilian as a potential option as well as his teammates Marcos Alonso, with both players having slid down the pecking order this season.

Juventus are also believed to be keen on former Roma man Palmieri, who has been with Chelsea since January 2018 but a move to Inter looks far more likely for the 25-year-old, who is under contract with the Premier League club until the end of the 2021/22 season.

The report goes on to stress that Palmieri’s possible departure from the Stamford Bridge club hinges entirely on Frank Lampard bringing in a replacement as left back as seen as one of the areas with the poorest depth in the squad.

Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and Nice’s Youcef Atal have both been identified by the Blues as possible targets but a move for the latter may have to wait after he had to go under the knife to correct a knee injury.
