Inter striker Romelu Lukaku could join an elite club if he scores against AC Milan in the derby tomorrow night, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews yesterday.
The report details how, in the era of three points being awarded for a win, only five non-Italian players have scored in both of their first two derbies against AC Milan. These players are Youri Djorkaeff, Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, Diego Simeone, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Diego Milito.
The former Manchester United striker scored against the Rossoneri in his first Milanese derby earlier this season in September, with that goal being his third in his first four games of his Inter career. The 26-year-old Belgian has scored 20 goals and provided four assists in his 29 appearances for Inter across all competitions, with the player forming a formidable partnership with Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez. Lukaku has shown why coach Antonio Conte desired him so much in the summer.
