Barcelona give up on Samir Handanovic

The Spanish sportsjournalists all agree: Barcelona have given up on their plans to sign Samir Handanovic. The Catalan club is looking for a replacement for Victor Valdez who is looking to leave the club this summer and who have been rumoured to be in the hunt for Inter and Slovenia’s number 1 shotstopper.

The chase is however called off because the club has decided to go after Borussia Mönchengladbach’s young german goalkeeper André Ter Stegen, something that has been confirmed by his team-mate Alvaro Dominques who was interviewed by Cadena SER: “He is very young, he is only 21 years old and he has a great future ahead of him. He is very agile and is great with the ball on his feet” the defender states and is convinced that Ter Stegen will sign for Barcelona this summer.
