Italy’s prime minister Giuseppe Conte has confirmed that the decision to play games behind closed doors lies with the Lega Serie A and not him.

A total of nine Serie A matches have been postponed in the past two weeks and both Coppa Italia semi final second leg’s have also been postponed as a direct result of the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic in Italy.

A great deal of confusion has been created as a result with many sides uncertain when their next game will come and who it will come against with reports in the media having suggested several possible ways that the Lega Serie A could decide to deal with things.

Inter have had three of their last four games across all competitions postponed and a lack of available dates due to their Europa League participation, has made finding new dates especially difficult.

“The Lega Serie A will decide whether to play behind closed doors or postpone the matches,” he is quoted by FCInterNews.it as telling reporters earlier on today.
