Serie A football will not be affected by the new government decree that has quarantined Lombardy, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how Giuseppe Conte’s government has passed a new decree expanding the emergency measures in place to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. The region of Lombardy, as well as 11 other provinces across Northern Italy, have been quarantined, with both entering and exiting banned.
Serie A games won’t be affected by the decree, however, the report continues. Juventus’ clash against Inter tonight will go ahead as expected behind closed doors in Turin, like the rest of today’s games. Inter’s Europa League clash against Getafe on Thursday will also be played behind closed doors.
Everything else is different, the report highlights. Schools and universities are closed, there are no religious ceremonies, cinemas and theatres are closed as well as many other social gatherings.
