Fiorentina are prepared to offer star man Federico Chiesa a contract extension according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Florence based side are set to offer a one year extension to Chiesa and a salary increase to €4 million. If the Italian national team winger accepts the offer, he will be contracted to the club until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Should he sign the contract, it remains to be seen what it would mean for the long term interest that both Inter and Juventus have shown in him.

Both clubs have been heavily linked with making moves for him for a number of transfer window’s now and it could well be the case that Chiesa’s new contract could deter them from making any offer.

This season the 22-year-old has made 26 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored seven goals and tallied five asissts.
