There are two necessary conditions for Serie A to be completed properly, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the first condition is that the emergency for the Coronavirus must be over within the time frame estimated by the experts, allowing the teams to return to the pitch by the start of May. The other condition is the postponement of this summer’s European Championship. The League, together with other leagues from around Europe, have already officially asked UEFA to postpone the competition.
The current idea for the league is to condense all the remaining games between 2nd May and 30th June, the report continues. The idea of the season being ended completely wasn’t addressed in the discussions yesterday. The most likely scenario remains ending the season with the current standings, although other problems such as whether or not to award the Scudetto, who will be relegated and who will be promoted.
The decision has been postponed to Monday, the report highlights. An assembly will formally meet to deliberate, which usually means being physically present, although now it will be able to happen over a conference-call instead.
