Inter could have significant funds available to them to invest into the squad in the upcoming transfer window thanks to a series of player sales according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Paris Saint Germain will sign Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis meaning Inter are guaranteed to pocket a sum of €70 million.
Joao Mario, Radja Nainggolan, Ivan Perisic and one of Roberto Gagliardini and Matias Vecino will be sold on too in the coming months.
Inter could have even greater funds available to them if Lautaro Martinez is to depart with him having a €111 million release clause in his current contract with the club.
If Lautaro does go on to leave, Inter will try to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, who has a €60 million release clause but they are likely to face competition from Bayern Munich for his signature.
Inter do have alternatives to Werner in mind but for the time being they are less convincing. The alternatives are Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Lille’s Victor Osimhen and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic.
Inter may also add another striker to their ranks in the shape of Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud, who is seen as a the perfect back-up option to Romelu Lukaku.
The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to add that Inter could sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso and Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri too.
