Inter’s Slovakian international central defender Milan Skriniar stopped by Italian broadcaster Inter TV to share his thoughts going into tonight’s Serie A clash against Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.

Skriniar began by underlining how important it is to win the match against his former side, Sampdoria, in order to come within striking distance of Serie A league leaders Juventus who are 9 points clear with a game in hand.

“Today we play an important match, if we win we are 6 points behind the top and there are a lot of games to be played in a short space of time.

“Everything can still happen. We have been working to be prepared for this. Now we have to give everything we have.

“We are prepared, we have watched a little bit of video during this entire period that we haven’t been playing. Maybe they have changed things up a bit. We will see what happens on the pitch. We have to look to win this match.

“I hope to be able to [score soon again]. The best thing would be if I could tonight, we’ll see.”

Moments later he stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia where he stated that although it is a bit strange to play against former teammates.

“Yes it is always a bit strange to play former teams but I ave already been at Inter for three years and I am looking to give my all for Inter.

“Absolutely [Conte’s statement stimulated me], there are many games where everything can happen. We have been working towards this, to be ready and now we have to make it show on the pitch.

“Yes, recently we have been conceding a few mote goals than we did before, this is not good and we need to improve also from this aspect. As well as trying to score more goals up front.”

Skriniar joined Sampdoria in January 2016 from Slovakian side MSK Zilina playing 38 games across all competitions for the Blucerchiati scoring no goals.

In the Summer of 2017 he made the switch to Inter in a deal worth €20 million which also included Gianluca Caprari going in the opposite direction. Since then he has featured 119 times for the Nerazzurri across all competitions scoring 4 goals in the process.
