Inter want more than double what they get from current main shirt sponsors Pirelli from a new sponsor according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Pirelli have been Inter’s main shirt sponsor since 1995 and are about to enter into their final season as the club’s main shirt sponsor.
Pirelli give Inter a sum of €12 million a year and Inter’s management hope to be able to get between €25-30 million from a new sponsor in a bid to help bridge the gap between themselves and other top clubs in Europe.
As things stand, the new main shirt sponsor is most likely going to come from Inter’s owners Suning’s native China with Evergrande and Samsung both seemingly in the running.
Since Suning took charge of the club they have brought several new sponsors to the club and it now remains to be seen if they can do it once again with a new main shirt sponsor.
