Thanks to Inter manager Anotnio Conte, Inter have managed to gain a combined 57 points on league rivals according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have managed to cut the gap between themselves and arch rivals Juventus by 14 points whilst they have managed to gain some 27 points on Napoli between closing the gap and then picking up more points on top of that.

Inter also have one more point than Atalanta, nine more than Roma and 15 more than city rivals AC Milan. The only team Inter have not gained on are Lazio. Gazzetta dello Sport have dubbed this achievement as the ‘Conte effect’.

The report goes on to point out that Inter have also picked up seven more points than they did in the whole of last season and that is with two league games still to be played.

Whilst the points gained have not helped Inter to win a first Serie A title since 2009/10, Inter have certainly got good foundations to build from for next season.
