Former Inter striker Ronaldo discussed the present and the future of the Nerazzurri in an interview in today’s print edition of the Italian magazine Sport Week.

“I have faith in Zhang and in this new management. As an Inter fan I have the dream of all the fans, with all due respect for Juventus, who in Italy are an example for everyone, but it’s time for this dictatorship to end. Now it’s Inter’s turn, I don’t see any other possibility at the moment.”

Inter are currently second in the league table and a win against Atalanta this evening would guarantee the runners up spot finish.

Last season the Nerazzurri finished in fourth place, 21 points behind winners Juventus, and so the fact that they are four points behind the Bianconeri going into the final game of the season shows the growth already under coach Antonio Conte.

The former Chelsea and Juventus boss is now working closely with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta to strengthen the squad this summer in order to further close the gap with Juventus and fight for the Scudetto next season. Inter’s next game is against Getafe in the Europa League next week, in a neutral venue in Germany.

The Nerazzurri are looking to win the competition in order to achieve silverware in Conte’s first season in charge.
