Inter attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen has spoken on what it has been like to spend the past few weeks in Germany for the latter stages of the Europa League.
Inter have been in Germany prior to their Europa League quarter final with Getafe over a week ago and will remain in Germany until Friday, the day they will contest the the Europa League final against Spanish side Sevilla at the RheinEnergieStadion.
“It’s a bit different but being a footballer means traveling a lot and when you are at a training camp you have the opportunity to go for a walk but here it’s like being in a bubble,” he explained as he appeared on the newly released episode of Inter’s official club podcast.
“All you do is sleep, eat, train and go back to your room. We spend a lot of time in the room every day. The weather is no different to the English weather, even in Denmark it is like this.”
The Danish national team player then went on to share his hopes for a different outcome to the last continental final he played in, the 2018/19 Champions League final, in Friday’s final.
“We have won several matches and now we are in the final and we want to win again. It was nice to play the Champions League final last year, unfortunately it wasn’t nice to lose it. The goal is to make this year go differently.”
In conclusion Eriksen spoke on what it has been like to play matches with fans.
“It’s different playing without the fans, you miss them. You enjoy having them at the stadium, you feel the atmosphere that is created. Being in the final like this is different, but it’s always a trophy.”
Since joining Inter back in the January transfer window, Eriksen has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided three assists.
