Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market Gianluca Di Marzio has downplayed the feasibility of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi ending up at Inter.
Messi’s future is right up in the air at the moment with him currently having under a year left on his current deal with the Blaugrana and reportedly weighing up his future with the La Liga outfit, who he has spent the entirety of his career with so far.
Inter are one of a few clubs to have been heavily linked with possibly signing him but whilst presdent in the Sky Sport Italia studios late last night, Di Marzio did not seem so confident about Inter’s chances of potentially landing him.
“The meeting took place. Koeman wants him and Barça cannot afford to let him go,” he explained.
“Inter have not opened up to the Messi hypothesis, there is no openness towards this negotiation. There is no evidence of optimism, there are no operations in this sense.”
Di Marzio proceeded to discuss two other clubs who have been linked with signing Messi and also shared his personal opinion on what he thinks will happen with the multi-time world player of the year.
“For PSG it may be a more feasible operation, whilst Manchester City are not interested. My point of view is that he will stay at Barcelona, he wants to be pampered.”
