Inter are not in the running to sign Barcelona forward Lionel Messi according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
Several reports in recent weeks and months have linked Inter with potentially making a move for him but Di Marzio is adamant that the Nerazzurri club are not in for Messi who has today rocked Barcelona by sharing his desire to leave the club via fax.
Messi has just under a year left to run on his current contract with the Catalonia based club and he has also been linked with potential moves to Manchester City, Manchester United and French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
“On the day in which Conte is informed of the limited budget for the transfer market and we talk about Messi’s farewell from Barcelona, we reiterate, that from the checks made with the club, Inter is not in the running for the Argentine,” Di Marzio revealed whilst speaking in the studios of Sky Sport Italia, a short while ago.
During the recently concluded 2019/20 season Messi, who has spent his entire career with Barcelona, scored 31 goals and provided 26 assists for his teammates.
