Serie A president Paolo Dal Pino has set up a media company to relaunch the Italian topflight into the global market, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how eight companies showed interest in acquiring a minority share between 10-15% of the Serie A media company, with two in particular fully respecting the characteristics of the binding proposal that was proposed by the League through their economic advisor. These companies are Cvc and Bain Capital.
It would be a turning point for Serie A, the report continues, and would guarantee greater visibility of Serie A across the world. It may also be the solution to help Serie A finally bridge the gap between the Italian topflight and the top leagues in Europe in terms on sponsors and TV rights earnings. The clubs will discuss it on the 9th September, the next meeting.
