Inter coach Antonio Conte is considering deploying Croatian forward Ivan Perisic as a wing back, after trying out the idea in training yesterday, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how Conte’s tried and tested 3-5-2 formation was worked on in training yesterday, with the 31-year-old Perisic playing as a left wing back, with English veteran Ashley Young moving to the right side of the pitch.

Perisic recently returned from a successful season on loan with Bayern Munich, where he won the Treble, scoring two goals in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

It is unclear whether Conte will attempt that experiment further or consider alternatives, as the club are still looking to sign a new left wing back, especially if Dalbert leaves before the closure of the transfer window.

Perisic is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022.
