The sale of Antonio Candreva will fund Inter’s move for Matteo Darmian according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

Inter and Sampdoria have agreed a deal worth €2.5 million for Candreva, who Sampdoria have offered a three year contract, worth €1.5 million a year, to.

It is now down to Candreva to decide whether to accept the offer or not and if he does, Inter will use the funds raised through his sale to bring in Darmian from Parma, who they have agreed a €2.5 million deal with.

Inter have been linked with signing Darmian for some time and should he arrive Inter manager Antonio Conte will gain an extremely versatile player.

The former Manchester United player is primarily a right wing-back but can play at right back, left back, left wing-back and even at centre back if so required.

Darmian featured in Parma’s match with Napoli this past weekend but was unable to make any goal contributions and could not prevent the team from falling to a 2-0 loss.
