A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has claimed that Barcelona offered Inter €15 million plus add-ons for Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.
The report details how the Blaugrana have been keen to sign the 23-year-old Nerazzurri forward for some time now, but failed to pay the player’s €111 million release clause back in July.
Since then, talks have been slow and a deal has not seemed particularly likely, despite the Catalan side’s strong interest.
Barcelona made a last offer for Lautaro, considered “literally ridiculous” by the Nerazzurri, given that it was for €15 million plus a list of various add-ons.
Just yesterday Lautaro seemingly took himself off the market after posting a photo of himself with Inter’s new shirt on his Instagram page, prepared for the new season.
It is likely now that the Nerazzurri will look to negotiate a new contract with the 23-year-old Argentine forward, whose current deal expires in 2023.
