Inter are on the verge of agreeing a €12 million deal with Cagliari to sell Radja Nainggolan, according to a report from Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla.

Nainggolan has been left out of Inter’s matchday squad for tonight’s Serie A fixture away at Benevento, officially due to pharyngitis.

But his future appears certain to be elsewhere with talks ongoing for his return to Sardinia.

Cagliari head coach Eusebio Di Francesco is waiting to be reunited with Nainggolan, having managed him for one season at Roma, and is convinced he will soon get his wish.

Inter wanted €15 million to sell Nainggolan permanently last month but have now dropped their asking price to €12 million, as well as agreeing to the formula of a loan with an obligation to buy.

Pedulla said Cagliari supporters would only need a little more patience before the deal is officially completed.

Nainggolan has made 37 appearances for Inter since joining in 2018, playing the final 15 minutes of Saturday’s 4-3 win at home to Fiorentina.
